Project Description

NoFret Cover

We aim to analyze and measure freight performances across Albany, and measure CO2 production levels. Our website should give people an insight to the freight they are using to transport their goods, CO2 emission levels, and overall information about how well the freight has performed in the past. Our website will help to give people prior knowledge to freights, and help to spread information about freights in Western Australia.

Our website brings light to how important freight networks are to everyday life, especially since covid cut off transport. Covid made it hard for goods to be transported, and now freights are needed more than ever. Measures of freight performance would ensure good delivery of products, and better profit for producers.

Our website gives information and facts on the efficiency of freights, and how they help Australia. The efficiency of freights is highly important, as they ensure good quality. Truck and freight routes are also important, making sure that your goods are reaching the desired location at the soonest possible time.

Our video tells us how transports green house emmissions are effected by rail freight.

Data Story

NoFret Values

NoFret redefines Australia's freight transport with eco-efficiency. This innovative map app optimizes ship, truck, and train routes using real-time and static data to cut emissions and enhance efficiency.

Transport Routes and Stops: We incorporate location information of ships, trucks, and trains, including loading and unloading points.
Real-time Patronage Data: By utilizing real-time usage data, we create a dynamic system that guides freight towards underutilized routes, maximizing efficiency and minimizing carbon emissions.
Optimized Routes: Through data-driven insights, we provide efficient route recommendations for each mode of transport, helping freight companies reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
Visual Representation: Throughout the website, maps and visual charts can allow consumers to easily understand what is provided about their own business and Australia.
Route Efficiency Enhancement: Our platform identifies less efficient routes and generates recommendations for optimization based on real-time usage data, enabling businesses to enhance transport networks.
Environmental Considerations: Our platform offers insights into carbon emissions and suggestions for greener choices, aiding businesses in their sustainability efforts.

Using governmental databases, we ensure that our data is kept reliable, secure and best performing.

By optimizing routes, reducing carbon footprints, and empowering both users and governments, we aim to create a significant positive impact on Australia's freight transportation landscape.

Identify plausible domestic freight routes across different modes of transport

Determine the most efficient way of moving freight around Australia using average speed of trucks and trains. An intermodal train can load 100 to 150 shipping containers. Goods can only move between trucks and trains at seaports and intermodal terminals. Consider using Google Maps Places API to identify major manufacturers and distribution centres.

Measuring freight performance across modes through universal metrics

Australia’s domestic freight demand has increased significantly over the last four decades, and continues to grow. With this growth, knowing what, where and how freight is moving is essential. Help the freight sector across government and industry to come up with ways to design metrics that are interoperable across all modes to measure performance.
