Project Description

Problem statement:
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on education in New South Wales (NSW). Schools and universities were forced to close or switch to online learning for extended periods of time, disrupting the education of millions of students. The impact was felt across the entire education system, from early childhood education to tertiary education. Using data explore the various ways that the COVID-19 pandemic affected education in NSW. What solutions can be implemented to reduce the effects if unprecedented events similar to Covid-19 were to occur.

Product/Solution:
Based on the data analysed above we can see the vast and everlasting impact that Covid-19 has had on the NSW education system exposing all the flaws with it. The solution that we have come up with is an app called Edu-Ffect. an innovative AI-powered learning app designed to revolutionize education for students from K - 12. With a focus on personalized, engaging, and effective learning experiences, Edu-ffect empowers students to excel academically while fostering a passion for learning. The app seamlessly integrates leading-edge technology, adaptive learning algorithms, and interactive content to provide a personalised educational journey and interests. One of the main issues that students faced was difficulty in engaging with what the teacher was explaining since different students work at different paces and may have different learning styles.
The app will use data from past student exams and weekly quiz marks combined with AI algorithms to determine what set of personalized content is best for the student. As a result it tailors a personalized learning path that adapts over time, allowing students to receive content that challenges them appropriately. Edu-ffect facilitates seamless communication between parents, teachers, and students through the use of simple charts. Parents receive regular updates on their child's progress and can engage in discussions with teachers about specific learning needs on what can be done to improve specific weak areas.

The app can either be used in conjunction with normal face to face learning in school (hybridised learning) or can be used standalone ensuring students are able to learn regardless of where they are.
