Project Description

Starting a small business is scary, but with the help of the BizViz app you can get a clear vision on your business’s potential. Simply enter the industry or field you’re looking to start a business in, your business preferred location, and some additional information and then the app will compare your information with a range of open government data to give you an idea of how suitable your business is to that location. Get easy access to local business resources, demographical and taxable income statistics and online resources that will help you get your business plan on track.

Data Story

We started by scrolling through all the available challenges and the one that inspired ALL of us at once - Small Business, Big Decision from Victoria was unanimously chosen. It struck a cord because we have all been, or are currently involved, in a business, which made this topic of genuine interest and real relevance. Everything seemed to flow from there...
We spent some time brainstorming ideas and embraced the retro option of applying pen to paper to capture our ideas.
From there, the workload was divvied up, and we spent the last 30-odd hours forgoing sleep, toilet breaks and movement (other than fingers on keyboards) to finish our project.

Joy!
