Chris Temmerman

Christopher is a third year Civil Engineering student at the University of Sunshine Coast. Christopher has a background in Civil Design and Engineering with 22 years experience in both the private and public sectors with extensive background and specialisation in Major Civil Infrastructure, Transport Networks and Design, Transport and Main Roads and Road Safety providing design and construction support services. Christopher has two principal areas of interest, continually developing his experience and knowledge in these areas through further study and the constant application of learnings in design and construction. Major Civil Infrastructure – Particularly transport infrastructure including bridge design and construction, in-situ bridge assessments and upgrades, navigation locks and weirs, marine revetments and Level 2 Structure Inspections for land development and Local Government Authorities. Transport Network Integration and Road Safety – For all transport users, particularly vulnerable members of communities providing concise active transport networks with high levels of safety promoting mode shift between key attractors whilst balancing the needs of vehicular traffic. Christopher has provided transport planning and design assistance to various Local Governments, Consultants and Developers, responsible for the layout and future planning of strategic road alignments, conceptual and detailed design of Department of Transport and Main Roads infrastructure as well as the compilation of design option reports, recommendations, transport network assessments and active transport networks. Christopher has further experience in the areas of Urban Development, Local Government, Placemaking, Mining, Rail and Heavy Industry within Australia and the Middle East and experience leading a design team and managing civil and structural projects.
